Franciacorta is located in the middle of Lombardy amidst rolling wine fields, forests and adjacent to the beautiful Lake Iseo. Among other things, Lake Iseo was the site of Cristo's latest work Floating Piers, in the summer of 2016, which attracted tourism from all over the world.
On the shores of Lake Iseo are a number of small towns that have managed to keep their industries alive. One of the more well-known is perhaps Riva, which manufactures the elegant mahogany speedboats.
Franciacorta as a wine district is best known for its white sparkling wine where the manufacturing principle is according to the classic method, ie the same one used to make Champagne.
Franciacorta has a micro-climate, allowing generous harvetsts of grapes and olives.
Each day's hike is a combination of experiences, walking through the rolling wine fields, wine tasting at award-winning winemakers, passing through some sleepy villages of medevial character and meals at reputable restaurants in a happy togetherness with your hiking group.
