Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera - BBB. Three of the most noble red wines gathered on the hills around Alba in Piedmont, northern Italy. Piedmont, in English "The Feet of the Mountains" is located in the western massif of the Alps and offers stunning views, rolling hills and outstanding food.
The walk will be conducted through the various "BBB" districts where we day by day concentrate on one of the "Red Queens" to get to know the difference and characters that appear in younger as well as in more aged bottles.
During the autumn we meet not only the magnificent color shifts of the season, but also by the annual truffle festival in Alba.
Of course, we will have the opportunity to make closer acquaintance with the truffle during our hike.
Alba is known for its gorgeous food and flavors, which have made it well known all over the World. Best known is the white and truffle, a product that has its worth in gold and is widely used in Piedmont cuisine. Another product is the hazelnut, which is one of the larger "by-products" grown in Piedmont, where the climate proved to be very beneficial for this appreciated nut.
